The Hotel Saint-Jacques welcomes you to its elegant and welcoming establishment in the Rue des Ecoles. Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, our hotel is within easy walking distance of the National Museum of the Middle Ages, the Pantheon and the Ile de la Cite as well as the Museum of Natural History and its Grand Gallery of Evolution, which this autumn is presenting a fascinating exhibition called Ocean; an Unusual Dive.
While in Paris, don’t miss Ocean; an Unusual Dive and the Grand Gallery of Evolution
The Hotel Saint-Jacques is only one kilometre from the Jardin des Plantes. Going there on foot is something we can definitely recommend as it’s so pleasant to walk the banks of the Seine or stroll along some of the most beautiful streets of the Latin Quarter. Once at the Jardin des Plantes, you can wander at leisure in this beautiful public park, stop by the zoo and, most importantly, visit the sublime temporary exhibition dedicated to the oceans that cover more than 70% of our planet. Running until January 5th, 2020, Ocean presents these immense expanses of water as mysterious places imbued with legends and myths as well as essential reservoirs of biodiversity that urgently require our protection.
Other residents of the Grand Gallery of Evolution
Located in the Museum of Natural History, this gallery features more than 7,000 superbly preserved and presented specimens. In the same space, you can discover the fauna of the polar regions, the desert zones, the equatorial forests and the savannas. Part of the gallery is dedicated to animals that have sadly disappeared from our planet. This fascinating educational venue pays tribute to the richness and complexity of the natural world and is particularly suited to family outings.
