Photographic vision: Irving Penn, master of the portrait

Irving Penn (1917 – 2009) captured for posterity the features of Audrey Hepburn, Yves Saint Laurent, and Sophia Loren, to name but a few. These prestigious photographs will be exhibited in the galleries of the Grand Palais from September 21st, 2017 to January 29th, 2018, providing the perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover the exceptional work of this outstanding artist. You’ll appreciate the elegance of the photographs, the minimalist aesthetic and the diligent care as you enter the intimate world of Irving Penn, a photographer who became a legend due to his exquisitely staged portraits. Organised in partnership with New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, this exhibition pays tribute to the celebrated photographer by marking the centenary of his birth.
